Harare Mayor Councillor Herbert Gomba has refuted claims of maladministration at the City of Harare in an exchange with his followers on Twitter. Below are excerpts from some of Councillor’s responses to his followers:
I repeat for clarity sake the Zanu Pf Min of local gvnt appointed a commission that ran Harare in 2013 June /July and they cancelled debts and bought SUVs using water money, the commission was led by Alfred Tome, Ozius Bvute and Dr Mahachi, let this be the truth that can’t be hidden.
Truth: Mudzuri led for one year and was removed, Masunda 5years, Manyenyeni 5years and Gomba 1 year.
Zanu Pf 1980 to 1999 plus Makwarara 3yrs, Chanakira Commission 3yrs, A Tome 2 months, Mrs Kampila and others 2 months, Dr Mafoti commission that gave COH directors fat Cheques 8 m
A commission led by Dr Mafoti gave the huge salaries ppl complain abt, directors of the council were given maids , security guards, fees for children outside Zim, spouses were given rights to drive SUVs bought for their partners who work in Cl , rights to fuel, tozvitaura mandidenha.
Directors were given armed municipal protection at the expense of municipal property, some directors at 60 years were still paying fees to universities in America, Australia at the expense of water, roads and today you want to tell other you seemed to care…
