NRZ Plans To Build Shopping Malls To Transform Stations To Match Global Standards – Report

The National Railways Of Zimbabwe is planning to construct shopping malls at their stations to match global standards The Chronicle reports.

This was revealed by NRZ General Manager Engineer Lewis Mukwada who was speaking after the NRZ Technical College Graduation in Bulawayo.

Our vision is that we build malls like those at Park Station in South Africa where we will have food courts, retail shops among other facilities.

At the present moment we are still doing groundwork

NRZ has been battling a number of problems chief among them vandalism which has affected their operations in a huge way.

  1. NRZ Mnager is a truly stupid delusional chap. His outfit can’t even clean the stations or carriages that he has. Where the f…. Is he going to get the money to build, let alone find the customers with the money to spend.?

  2. Typical parastatal mentality. Money gets poured to this project by government and midway through its abandoned. No one gets to be answerable for wasted money. They are trying to open an avenue of looting money by contracting own companies or those own by friends and family.

  3. why not rather work on having train services country wide and in the African region. we dont need shopping malls we need trains.
