11 police officers fro different stations were last week rounded up after they allegedly tried to extort money from a local businessman.
One of the law enforcement agents was suspended while the others are yet to know their fate. the 11 reportedly stormed into one Vaya Sanjay Keshavji and accused him of dealing with forex illegally. The police officers who used 2 unregistered vehicles were dressed in plain clothes while some were wearing riot gear.
The officers identified themselves as officers from Harare central. Mr Keshvji was suspicious and told them to wait there as we went on to alert the police. A reaction team was dispatched and caught the team still at the scene. They have been detained at different police stations.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said they were still checking their facts as they are still investigating
