Mapeza Targets ABSA PSL Survival With Chippa United

Chippa United coach Norman Mapeza said that his main priority is to keep the club in the South African premiership.

In an interview with TimesLive from Port Elizabeth, Mapeza told the publication of how he saved Monomotapa United from relegation in 2007 and went on to win the league the following season with the same team. He said:

The club is in a difficult position so the best plan is to make sure we survive relegation. That is the main priority.

If they (Chippa chairman Mpengesi) had told me that they want to win the league at the end of the season I would say‚ ‘Look‚ it can never happen.

Mapeza joined Chippa United in September this year, and the club is winless after eight Absa Premiership matches.

The Chilli Boys are bottom of the log with four points from as many draws and defeats.
