Maternal Death At Hwange Hospital: Woman Dies After Giving Birth To Triplets
In a sad story that happened a few weeks ago, a woman died after giving birth to triplets after she reportedly lost a lot of blood during giving birth. The expectant mother didn’t know she was pregnant with triplets as poorly equipped District hospitals don’t have the equipment to perform ultrasound scans.
The expectant mother only got to know she was carrying more that one child during birth as she delivered her first child naturally but had to be operated to birth the last 2.
According to ZimLive:
…she was later transported by ambulance to Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo, a distance of 400km, after her health deteriorated.
Mpilo Hospital Clinical Director Dr Solwayo Ngwenya spoke to ZimLive and reiterated that the woman had lost too much blood by the time she was brought in.
