Villager Speared To Death In Row Over Stolen Cement

A man from Inyathi in Matabeleland, murdered a fellow villager with a spear after he was accused of stealing the now deceased’s cement. In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said:

A 65-year-old man was ruthless attacked and killed by a fellow villager who was suspected of breaking into the deceased’s homestead where bags of cement were stolen.

The deceased mobilised other villagers to track the suspect’s footprints which led them to the accused’s homestead at Village 8, Hlathini Kennilworth, Inyathi.

On being requested to search for the stolen property, the accused became aggressive and armed himself with a spear which he used to stab the deceased on the forehead, neck and rib cage.

Deceased was rushed to Inyathi Hospital but he died on admission. The brazen lawlessness by the accused is condemned in the strongest sense.
