Zimbabwe Ranks 4th In Cancer Deaths In Africa

Zimbabwe has been ranked among the top 10 countries in Africa with the highest number of people who die from cancer with reports indicating that over 2 000 women die of cervical cancer in Zimbabwe every year.

Health and Child Care Ministry director, Benard Madzima, lauded First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa for taking a leading role in the battle against cancer. He said:

You need political leadership at the highest level for the message to reach communities, so our work has been made easier by our First Lady who is committed to our cause.

Below are the 10 countries on the list are with the highest cervical cancer rates in Africa according to the World Cancer Research Fund.

  2. Malawi
  3. Zambia
  4. Zimbabwe
  5. Tanzania
  6. Burundi
  7. Uganda
  8. Lesotho
  9. Madagascar
  10. Comoros
