MDC MPs To Appeal Parly's Decision To Suspend Their Sitting Allowances For The Past 5 Months

MDC Members Of Parliament who walked out of a parliamentary session being addressed by the President yesterday will approach the courts seeking redressal of the ruling made by Mudenda after the incident.

Mudenda ruled that they would not get their sitting allowance for the past 5 months including yesterday’s session.

Speaking to Zim Morning Post, MDC’s Prosper Mutseyami said:

The Speaker is not right at all. But we must seek redress through the courts of the land. His position was just out of order.

Naturally he could have come up with a statement of rebuking the MPs and maybe give them a warning in a form of a statement nor to exclude the day sitting allowances for the day we walked out

However Pupurai Togarepi the Zanu Pf Youth secretary said Mudenda’s ruling was justified and it was long overdue since they cannot receive allowances for a session they didn’t sit for.
