"First Lady Deserves Havard University Ambassadorship," Opposition Political Leader
Linda Masarira, leader of the opposition Labour, Economists and African Democrats (LEAD) party has said that Zimbabwe’s first lady, Auxillia Mnangagwa deserves the Havard University honorary Ambassadorship.
Masarira cited the first lady’s fight against cancer as reason enough to earn her the post. Posting on microblogging site, Twitter, Masarira said:
I have seen some Zimbabweans challenging the first lady’s ambassadorial role as Havard Global Health Catalyst. From my point of view, she deserves it considering how she has contributed to the fight against cancer. Harvard University honors first Lady.
FeedbackHer remarks come when there are calls by former USA officials and former Havard University academics to rescind the ambassadorship.
They argue that the first lady’s direct connection to her husband, President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration was the reason why the world-renowned academic institution must revoke the honor.

The team say that Mnangagwa’s administration was violating human rights. They gave the disappearance and alleged torture of the acting president of the Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association, Peter Magombeyi as an example of human rights violation in the country.
There are also some Zimbabweans who want the ambassadorship revoked for reasons mentioned above.
