University Of Zimbabwe VC Hails ED As 3 927 Students Graduate
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Zimbabwe, Professor Paul Mapfumo hailed President Emmerson Mnangagwa for his commitment to improving higher education across the country.
Mapfumo was speaking at the University of Zimbabwe on Friday 20 September where Mnangagwa who is the Chancellor of all State Universities conferred 3927 graduands with various undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
Of the 3927 graduands, there were those with Doctor of Philosophies, Master of Philosophies, Masters Degrees as shall be presented below.
- 23 – Doctor of Philosophy degrees,
- 12 – Master of Philosophy degrees,
- 760 – Masters degrees, and
- 3 132 – Bachelor’s degrees.
The graduation ceremony was held when the country is marred by socio-economic and political crises including high unemployment and inflation rates, and severe shortages of basic commodities.
Higher and Tertiary Education Minister, Professor Amon Murwira recently hinted that the education curriculums would be reviewed so as to produce students capable of addressing contemporary societal issues.
