FULL THREAD: Doctors Say They Just Spoke To "Dumped" Dr Magombeyi Over The Phone

There are reports suggesting that colleague doctors recently spoke over the phone to the acting president of Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association, Dr Peter Magombeyi who was reported missing on Saturday 14 September.

Magombeyi is said to have been dumped at a place he does not know and is looking for transport to Harare.

Posting on Twitter, Dr Solwayo Ngwenya, MPILO Central Hospital Clinical Director.

Someone called to say they have just spoken to Peter who says that he is disoriented and trying to get lifts to Harare. Please motorists be on the lookout. I tried his number which rang but was not answered then now switched off @daddyhope @citezw

Dr Mthabisi Bhebhe, the secretary-general of the Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association, which Magombeyi leads, told ZimLive on Thursday night that he had spoken by phone with his missing colleague. Bhebhe reportedly said:

It’s him. We spoke briefly. He told me he was in the bush and that it was dark. He didn’t know where he was at the time. It’s not easy to do a diagnosis over the phone but he sounded fine.
