FULL TEXT: MDC Demands Immediate Release Of Dr Magombeya

The MDC is extremely shocked by the forced disappearance of the Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors’ Association (ZHDA) Acting President, Dr Peter Magombeyi; who was allegedly abducted by three men late on Saturday night.

The MDC condemns in the strongest terms the use of such barbaric methods in settling disputes by the regime; whose job it is to protect the citizens of this country.

The MDC reiterates that doctors, like all other workers in Zimbabwe; have a guaranteed constitutional right to fight for better working conditions.

ln return, the regime has a duty to ensure that they are properly remunerated so that the people of Zimbabwe may enjoy their constitutional right to healthcare.

In this case, doctors have been severely incapacitated by the amazingly silly wage they are getting, which wage is not enough for their barest upkeep and travel to and fro work.

The MDC demands that the regime ensures the speedy and immediate unconditional release of Dr Magombeyi.

Further, the MDC urges all Zimbabweans to unite in exorcising this demon of abductions by standing firmly with the Hospital Doctors’ Association at their time of need.

The MDC also petitions the Almighty God to dismantle the Mugabe mantle that has been passed on to this regime.

The so-called  ‘new dispensation’ must show itself to be new indeed, and not merely an amplification of the old.

The MDC stands firmly with the doctors in demanding the release of their association’s Acting President, and in demand for a total improvement in their working conditions, for the sake of the good health of all Zimbabweans.
