The body of the late former president of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe was received with love by members of the public at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport on Wednesday.
Mugabe’s body which was being accompanied by his widow, Grace and some government officials was coming from Singapore where he died on the 6th of this month.
Members of Mbare Chimurenga Choir were also awaiting the arrival of the body of Zimbabwe’s founding father. One member of the choir applauded the late veteran leader for championing the land reform programme.
Speaking to Zim Morning Post, another member of the choir who was only identified Mai Mabhonzo wept and said:
We have lost a father, a unifier, someone who listened to us as his children, we owe him, our father.
The choir has during Mugabe’s tenure of office been making hit after hit praising the former ZANU PF boss. When Mugabe’s body arrived, songs including “VaMugabe Igamba”, “VaMugabe Inhume” were sang with members of the public singing along.
