Nigeria Sends Special Envoy To SA Over Xenophobic Attacks

Nigeria president, Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly sent a special envoy to meet South Africa president, Cyril Ramaphosa over xenophobic attacks that erupted in that country on the 29th of August.

Punchng.com reports that Buhari’ envoy is expected in Pretoria on Thursday.

A statement which is said to have been released by the Nigerian presidency in Abuja on Wednesday registered Nigeria’s displeasure in attacks on Nigerians and their properties.

The statement also informed that Buhari had instructed his Foreign Affairs Minister to summon South African High Commissioner to Nigeria and get a brief on the situation; express Nigeria’s displeasure over the treatment of her citizens; and assurance of the safety of their lives and property.
