"ZIFA Is Mighty Warriors' Worst Enemy", Coach

Mighty Warriors coach Sithethelwe Sibanda has criticised the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) for its failure to support the team.

The Mighty Warriors were beaten 5-0 by Zambia’s She-polopolo in the first leg of the Olympic 2020 qualifier played at Nkoloma stadium in Zambia.

Speaking after the match, Sibanda was exasperated by the football bosses’ failure to back the national team which failed to even train before the match. Said Sibanda:

5-0 is not a good scoreline and a true reflection of the game, we struggled physically and as a team, it is always difficult to meet on the travelling day without training.

There was no training, not even a single training, that is why we were forced to do an injury inspired substitution in the first half because of a hamstring injury and football is all about training.

Our country (Zifa) is our worst enemy in terms of not affording us the time to train. Football has to be respected, you play the way you train.

Sibanda said that the girls did all their best but fatigue played a part in the second half crumble as Zambia scored all the five goals after the break.
