PTUZ Says Apex Council Has Betrayed Civil Servants

The Progressive Teachers’ Union of Zimbabwe (PTUZ) has denounced an agreement reached by the Apex Council and the government during a National Joint Negotiation Council meeting held in Harare on Tuesday.

Apex Council chairperson Cecilia Alexander signed the agreement on behalf of the civil servants’ union.

PTUZ secretary-general Raymond Majongwe noted something bizarre about Alexander’s signature which is dated 20/08/20 (20 August 2020) on one of the agreements. Said Majongwe:

When the Apex Team leader signs a date in 2020 you start asking yourself what was going on? The PTUZ rejects this 76% offer and we are convinced the Apex Council has yet again betrayed the workers.

  1. Apex came out to ‘consult’ members who outrightly rejected the gvt offer but they go on to sign it. Thats conclusive evidence that Apex is just an extension to these oppressive gvt bodies. The member unions should just go to court and fight against this Apex nonsense.
