Opposition MDC Secretary for Education, advocate Fadzayi Mahere has observed that for every challenge bedevilling Zimbabwe, President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the ruling ZANU PF have made a billboard. The billboard, for her, suggests that the party was aware of the problems as they promise that Mnangagwa was going to eradicate the problems once elected into office. Posting on Twitter, Mahere said:

For every problem that exists in Zimbabwe today, there is a corresponding ED election billboard with a broken promise to fix that problem – from corruption to jobs to electricity supply to freedom of expression. You name it, he promised it. And he has failed to deliver.

Mahere’s remarks resonate with those of Political Analysts and political Science lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe, Eldred V Masunungure who said that Mnangagwa overpromised and underdelivered.

In his inaugural speech, Mnangagwa promised to solve all above-mentioned issues, corruption, unemployment, electricity shortages, collapsed health sector, shrinking democratic space, cash shortages and many more.

Analysts however as indicated above believe Robert Mugabe’s successor has done little in fulfilling his election promises.

Some even argue that he has been worse than his predecessor.
