Caps United Football Club president, Farai Jere has suggested that money influenced Lloyd Chitembwe’s decision to leave the club for cross-town rivals Harare City F.C.
In an interview with The Herald on Monday where he also expressed gratitude for Chitembwe’s contribution to the club’s success, Jere declared that the club intended to keep the coach. He said:

Clearly, Harare City dangled a deal which, if the figures we have seen being circulated are anything to go by, was something we could not match even though our primary objective was to keep Lloyd as our head coach.
Meanwhile, Chitembwe signed a two-and-a-half-year contract as Harare City coach on Monday.
He takes over the reins following the departure of Mark Harrison several weeks ago.
