"Not A Single Country Made It Without A Vision" - Eddie Cross
Former MDC legislator for Bulawayo South, Eddie Cross has said that Zimbabwe needs to come up with a clear vision for it to come out of its economic doldrums.
He made reference to a number of now perceived great nations to demonstrate how powerful a vision is in the transformation of communities.
The economist noted that the United States of America, China and Singapore used to be nothing with their citizens living in abject poverty.
The mentioned countries are now considered advanced and big on both the geopolitical and geoeconomic arenas. For Cross, it is because of the clear vision the fathers of those countries designed which propelled those nations to greater heights.
He noted that a clear vision was the missing link for Zimbabwe. He noted that there is individualism and no national vision which guides the conduct of citizens. Cross said:

Here in Zimbabwe, we have no such consensus, “what is in it for me”, dominates and the retention of power is the overwhelming priority; not what we do with the power we have, even for a short while. We have created a monster, one that does not care about the poor; who are simply used as democratic ammunition.
He noted that transforming this country into a better habitable society demands leadership that is selfless who put national interests before personal interests.
Cross observed that whilst a few individuals were filthy rich other citizens are in extreme poverty.
