"It Was A Well-Planned Assassination Attempt Against My Family" - Sikhala Fumes
MDC vice-chairperson, Job Sikhala, has claimed that the crash by a car over his durawall was a State planned assassination attempt against his family.
Sikhala also revealed that he was now under investigation after Lawrence Danha, the motorist who crashed at his wall, reported to the police that the MDC legislator together with four other men assaulted him for the crash.
Speaking to the News Day, the furious Sikhala said:
The statement by Assistant Commissioner of police Paul Nyathi, insinuating that the person responsible for the terrorist attack at my house on August 12 was assaulted on my instigation, has clearly brought out the duplicity of the State security agents in a well-planned sting of an assassination attempt against my family.
Sikhala added that the way the police were handling the case confirms their suspicion that the incident was an assassination attempt by the state.

He also said that he demanded full prosecution of the “terrorist” attack and the restoration of his durawall.
Sikhala is a known government critic who is currently out of prison on bail after he was arrested and charged with subversion of a constitutional government. The arrest followed his famous “we will overthrow Mnangagwa before 2023” remarks.
Meanwhile, police spokesperson Paul Nyathi said that both cases, that of Sikhala and that of Danha would be investigated impartially.
