ED Sends Special Envoy To SADC Countries Ahead Of 17-19 August Summit

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has sent his special envoy, Simon Khaya Moyo, to Southern Africa countries ahead of the SADC summit scheduled for the 17th to the 19th of August in Tanzania.

Moyo was sent to deliver president Mnangagwa’s special messages to SADC member countries. Mnangagwa is set to assume the chairmanship of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security at that summit.

In a statement last night, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade last night said:

Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo, in his capacity as His Excellency President Emmerson D. Mnangagwa’s Special Envoy, delivered a message to His Excellency Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, President of the Republic of Mozambique, in Maputo on 14 August  2019.

The parties also had the opportunity to exchange views on matters of mutual interest.

Moyo has also met with His Majesty, King Mswati III of eSwatini, Lesotho Prime Minister Dr Thomas Thabane and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The Herald reports that Moyo in all circumstances delivered President Mnangagwa’s special message and also held discussions on matters of mutual interests.
