Govt To Foreigners - Stay Off Zim Politics

Last week the home affairs Minister made a claim that foreigners were helping the MDC to plan the watershed demo slated for Friday this week. The government claimed one Serbian who took part in the Arab Spring and the recent Sudanese clashes was in the country under the guise of being a tourist whilst his real reason was to help the opposition stage their demo.

Issuing a stern warning to foreigners, the govt through Home Affair Minister Cain Mathema said:

Let me remind foreigners who are dabbling in local politics that Zimbabwe is a sovereign state and will not allow people disguised as tourists to come and promote anarchy and destruction of property in the country

The 16 August Demo plans have been met with hostility from the government with several government officials saying a lot of things about it. Including but not limited to

  1. The demo has been condemned by SADC
  2. Ignore such barbaric acts
  3. The demo will not happen
  4. We are on high alert in case you destroy property
