Warriors To Play South Africa In 2nd Round Of The 2020 CHAN Qualifiers
The locally-based Warriors are through to the second round of the 2020 African Nations Championships (CHAN) final qualifiers after beating Mauritius 7-1 over two legs.
The Rahman Gumbo-coached side defeated the Indian Ocean Islanders 4-0 in their backyard in the first leg played over a week ago.
The Warriors followed the away victory with a 3-1 win at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday. Speaking to reporters after the match, Warriors caretaker coach, Gumbo said:
It was a done deal. There was a bit of complacency on our guys after the away win. Prince Dube scored all the three goals for the Warriors.
But it was a fair result for the local-based players, who are the future of the Warriors’ squad.

I wanted to give every player a chance and we will keep on changing until we get the right combination.
There are some players who gave a good account of themselves.
The Warriors will face South Africa’s Bafana Bafana following their 3-0 win at Dobsonville Stadium in Johannesburg in the second leg to sail through by a 6-2 scoreline.
The winner between the two sides qualifies for the bi-annual tournament set to be hosted by Cameroon in January/ February next year.
