Journalists Threatened For Reporting On NSSA Corruption

An editor with Nehanda TV, Lance Guma, has claimed that a journalist at News Day is being sent by former NSSA board chair Robin Vela to basically harass and intimidate Nehanda TV members for reporting on NSSA corruption. The corruption scandal has resulted in the arrest of Tourism Minister, Priscah Mupfumira, who is accused of several counts of corruption and criminal abuse of office. NSSA, as a result, is said to have lost millions of dollars. Below is Guma’s Facebook post in which he threatens to expose the journalist harassing him on Whatsapp.

A prominent senior journalist who works for NewsDay is being sent by former NSSA board chair Robin Vela to basically harass and intimidate us into removing stories covering the corruption at NSSA. This message is a final warning, send me one more message via Whatsapp and I will share all the messages you have sent me. While we risk everything to shine a spotlight on corruption you are allowing yourself to be an errand boy for the rich and powerful.
