Bullion Leaf Tobacco To Conduct Contract Sales At Their Auction Floors

Bullion Leaf Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd, has said that it will contract farmers that did not benefit under the company’s input support scheme to sell in Bullion’s auction floors.

Gwanyanya also said that high quality and sheer volumes of tobacco are expected at this year’s auction.

Bullion Leaf Zimbabwe managing director, Mr Persistence Gwanyanya, said:

This year because we have got a contract sales licence, we are going to do what is called contract sales. Those farmers that did not benefit under our input support schemenwould be contracted to sale in our auction floors.

The Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board has since licensed 38 buyers so far compared to 32 last year ahead of the marketing season expected to kickstart end of this month.

Tobacco is nicknamed the golden leaf as it is one of the crops that bring huge amounts of foreign currency into the country yearly.
