Wife Beats Husband For Showing Up At Lobola Ceremony Of Daughter He Neglected
A Bulawayo man was reportedly beaten by his wife after he appeared at a lobola ceremony of his daughter he had neglected.
According to Sukoluhle Mpofu, the wife, her husband, Mr Benjamin Mpofu, from Nkulumane suburb neglected their daughter and she had to raise her alone.
Benjamin Mpofu allegedly left the ceremony and reported the assault which his wife denied.
Sukoluhle appeared before Western Commonage magistrate, Ms Tancy Dube, facing charges of physical abuse. She pleaded not guilty to the charges. She said:
My husband just got bitter because he didn’t get any money from the bride price.

He also insulted my family on that day and I lost control as I was angry and I beat him up.
Ms Tancy Dube then acquitted her of the charges.
The State alleges that the assault transpired on the 3rd of February this year. Prosecutor Ms Thembeni Mpofu said:
Sukoluhle held Mr Mpofu by the trousers and beat him with fists all over his body causing bodily harm.
Sukoluhle was arrested after her husband had made a police report.
