Opposition Leader’s Son Jailed 6 Months For Theft

Son to controversial opposition political leader, Linda Masarira has been sentenced to six months in prison for theft.

Kuzivakwashe Muhlanga was on Wednesday found guilty of theft by Harare Magistrate Joseph Munhondo after he stole her mother’s cellphone valued at $650.

He was facing charges of Contravening, Section 113 of the Criminal Law [Codification and Reform] Act Chapter 2:23.

The State established that Muhlanga stole Masarira’s phone which was under a pillow in the bedroom after she had gone for a 30-minute driving road test with her husband on July 3 this year.

When Masarira returned home, she could not find the phone and paraphernalia she had put in her handbag.

She proceeded to make a report at Marlborough police station. Police details searched Muhlanga’s room and found the stolen items.
