“What Else Can I do?”, Ngodzo Speaks Out Over CHAN Omission

Football fans have expressed outrage over the Warriors technical team’s omission of Caps United midfielder Joel “Josta” Ngodzo in the provisional 32-member squad for the 2020 African Nations Championships (CHAN).

Considered one of the three best players playing locally at the moment, Ngodzo was left dumbfounded by the omission, asking rhetorically, “what else should I do?”

In an interview with NewsDay, the 30-year-old expressed his disappointment. He said:

Essentially, it means I don’t make the cut, so I respect the decision by the coaches. That is football and we have to move on. Of course, I was surprised, but I have to accept what is there.

The Warriors take on Mauritius on Sunday with the reverse fixture set for Barbourfields in Bulawayo a week later.

The CHAN tournament is played between the best national teams of Africa, exclusively featuring players who are active in the national championships and qualified to play in the ongoing season.
