EcoCash Says It's Service Is Now Fully Back

Mobile money payment platform EcoCash has announced that its service is now fully operational following a total blackout on Saturday.

The disruption which affected transactions, according to parent company Econet Wireless, was caused by ZESA load-shedding and generators failing to kick in. In a statement on social media platforms on Sunday morning, EcoCash said:

EcoCash is happy to advise that service is now fully back up and that customers can now transact. We thank you for your continued support and would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.

In another message posted about five hours earlier on its social media platforms, the company said:

Dear customer. We are pleased to advise that EcoCash services have been restored. We apologise for the inconvenience caused during the restoration period. Thank you for your patience and support.
