ZETDC Gets The First Batch Of Commercial Prepaid Meters

ZETDC has taken it to Twitter to reveal that it has received 2500 commercial prepaid meters for its 40k customers the Daily News exclusively reported. This move will see 6% of their commercial customers being added to the prepaid grid. ZESA via its development engineer has said they were installing these smart meters to  “enable and facilitate uptake of renewable energy”

ZESA which selected the suppliers of the meters through a tender process aims to have all commercial customers on the smart prepaid grid.

ZESA is reportedly owed $1 Billion by defaulters. ZESA also owes its suppliers close to $70 million after it paid $10 million to ESCOM last week.
