AFCON: We Can Do It - Knowledge Musona

Warriors Captain, Knowledge Musona has said that they can win against DRC. Musona scored when the two teams met in the qualifiers in October last year before being red carded in the 72nd minute.

Zimbabwe plays DRC tonight, 30 June 2019 at 30 June Stadium, a day which also happens to be Independence Day for the DRC. Speaking to Zimbabwean media after their Friday evening training session at the El sekka-el hadid SC Stadium, Musona said:

We beat them before (in the qualifiers) but this is a different environment altogether, it’s a tournament but we are going to do our best. If we play like we did in our last game where we created chances but now we need to convert them I think we can get maximum points.

The Smiling Assasin missed some golden opportunities in the game against Uganda. He was, however, instrumental in the buildup towards Khama Billiat’s stunning goal.

Warriors coach, Sunday Chidzambwa, also spoke at the same presser and said that the match against DRC was a tough one for both teams since they faced each other in the qualifiers stages.

Nottingham Forest defender, Tendayi Darikwa, called for more goals so as to cancel all possibilities of drawing of lots in the event Uganda lose by a one nil margin to Egypt. He said that they can win against DRC if they replicate their play against Uganda. He added that they only needed to spice it with goals.
