NewZWire reports that the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) paid US$4.9 million 9 years ago to a firm for transformers which have not been delivered to date. The report reads:
ZESA 9 years ago paid US$4.9m to a firm called Pito Investments for transformers. They were never delivered.
The Zimbabwe Power Company also paid $560K to the same firm, and again no equipment was delivered. This is according to the latest report by Auditor-General Mildred Chiri.
