Civil Servants Want October 2018 Salaries' Value Restored

Civil servants say that they want the government to restore the value they were earning in October 2018.

Recently, civil servants had demanded salaries in US dollars but have since revised their demands after the government scrapped the use of the multi-currency regime.

In an interview with the Daily News on Tuesday, Apex Council chairperson Cecilia Alexander said:

The way forward is for the value we were earning in October 2018 to be restored. Whatever policy arrangement that has been put in place, we just want the issue of our salaries to be looked into.

We are going to meet very soon to map the way forward. We want the value of our salaries to be restored.
