"We Did Not Eat Warriors' Money", ZIFA Responds To Mliswa

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), has refuted accusations by Member of Parliament, Temba Mliswa that some of its officials have misappropriated funds and have to be arrested on their return from Egypt.

Responding to the allegations on Twitter, the association said:

ZIFA is yet to receive any funds from the Warriors fundraising committee.

As an honourable MP, we expect Temba Mliswa to verify his facts before making unfounded allegations. We reiterate ZIFA has not abused any funds.

Earlier Mliswa had tweeted:

All ZIFA officials implicated in the misappropriation of ZIFA funds must be arrested at the airport upon their arrival from Egypt.

Failure to which, all those who support this move, join with me to wait for their return at the airport to effect a citizen’s arrest! Zvakwana

Meanwhile, some of the Warriors fans who commented on the issue on social media were supporting Mliswa’s accusations.

They said Mliswa never mentioned funds generated by the fundraising committee, implying that he may have been referring to funds availed by CAF.
