WATCH: President Mnangagwa Set To Assume SADC Organ Chairmanship

Southern African Development Committee Executive Secretary H.E. Dr Stergomena Lawrence paid a courtesy visit on president Emmerson Mnangagwa on Friday at the State House to brief him on the forthcoming SADC meeting to be held in Tanzania in August this year. She said that His Excellence, Mnangagwa is the incoming SADC chairperson of the Organ on Peace and Security. The post, as she said, means that Mnangagwa will be guiding the region in as far as politics, peace and security issues are concerned. Dr Lawrence also said that Zimbabwe will not be on the regional grouping’s agenda as the opposition wants. She said that there are procedures that are followed and the SADC was yet to receive an application from the MDC.
