A Gweru parent has expressed anger towards the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education after a school where his child is enrolled wrote a letter requesting $1.50 for Civvies Day.
The letter was signed by one Gutuza P., the Headteacher at Matongo Primary School in Gweru. The letter, dated 18 June 2019, reads:
Dear Parent/Guardian
The Ministry has asked schools to have a Civvies day in support of Youth Games and District Prize Giving on 21/02/29. Each child should pay $1.50 on Friday.
In response, the parent told the school Head that he does not have the money and the Ministry should avail the $1.50.
