‘Warriors Located In Affluent, Highly Secure Cairo Neighbourhood’

The Zimbabwe national football team, the Warriors, are being accommodated at a fortified military hotel in one of the Egyptian capital Cairo’s most affluent neighbourhood.

The Heliopolis neighbourhood, where the Warriors are based, is where Egypt’s powerful military is headquartered.

The area is also where the regional offices of the World Health Organisation and the Red Crescent Society are based.

It is in the same neighbourhood where the Cairo Military Academy Stadium is situated. The giant stadium was used as the home ground by soccer giants Al Ahly and Zamalek while the Cairo International Stadium was being given a facelift.

Heliopolis neighbourhood has 16 major mosques, there is also the Saint Mark’s Church and Saint George’s Church as well as a Jewish synagogue.
