The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) said that load shedding will be eased this weekend.
The power utility announced earlier this week that it was implementing stage 2 of the load shedding schedule due to a technical fault at the Hwange Thermal Power Plant that had resulted in the loss of significant generation capacity.
However, the debilitating power cuts are expected to ease as of this Saturday according to ZETDC. It said in a statement:
ZETDC has started restoring Hwange. One of the small units is now on the grid producing about 80MW tomorrow (Saturday) morning one of the big Units producing 160MW also goes on stream. That’s enough power to power the whole of Bulawayo!!
Today there will be significant relief to load shedding Advocate.

We have so called engineers at zesa. They can’t address the challenge and as a country, We are still using dilapidated Rhodes turbines(electricity infrastructure).its a mockery at its best,
