The National Peace and Reconciliation Commsion is looking for an Editor to edit academic papers on Gukurahundi. The advert reads:

The consultant is required to edit one paper produced by NPRC on the Gukurahundi conflict in order to contextualize and provide understanding to the NPRC in their planning. This will enable the Commission a deeper appreciation of the conflict in order to pave way for healing and reconcilliation.

The Consultant should review the paper, add, subtract and correct facts in the paper in order to produce as near a reflection of the Gukurahundi as possible. The various narratives espoused by authors should be reflected and this wil be complimented by communities when the Commission interacts with them. The theoretical and practical blending of information will enable the NPRC to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the conflict.

Deliverables

A Consultant is expected to edit one paper on Gukurahundi  conflict, its causes and consequences and implications on NPRC programming today.

Requirements and experience Education

• Advanced university degree Qualification in Peace and Conflict, Political Science, History or related field.
• A minimum of five years relevant cumulative experience in research and report writing as well as two publications on Gukurahundi.
• Strong written and spoken English skills.
