First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa Appointed Ambassador By US Organisation

The first lady, Auxillia Mnangagwa has been appointed as ambassador of the United States of America-based organisation, Days for Girls. Days for Girls (DfG) is a global movement founded in 2008 that prepares and distributes sustainable reusable menstrual health solutions for girls.

DfG global advocacy director Mrs Diana Nelson expressed happiness over the first lady’s charity work. She said:

Through her Angel of Hope Foundation, the First Lady is engaging several individuals and organisations who can help address the challenges faced by the girl child. We are glad that she is doing so much to address their needs especially those from disadvantaged communities. She is really a champion.

We are honoured to announce that she is now the ambassador for menstrual health with Days for Girls in Zimbabwe and we are excited that she has accepted the role.

Mrs Nelson also said that Mrs Mnangagwa was expected to help bring menstrual hygiene education to all the young girls and women countrywide.

DfG country director Ms. Chipo Chikomo added that after seeing the First Lady leading the fight for the girl child’s needs, they saw it fit to work with her. The first lady through her Angel of Hope Foundation has been engaging development partners to address the plight of the girl child. Chikomo said:

Mrs Mnangagwa who is also the Ambassador of Health and Child Care said that the appointment allows her to enhance her advocacy work for girls and women around the country.
