Chief Ndiweni Tears Into Chief Justice Malaba

Outspoken Ntabazinduna Chief Nhlanhlayamangwe Ndiweni on Saturday attended the just-ended MDC Congress that was held in Gweru.

The chief castigated Chief Justice Luke Malaba over the ConCourt ruling that upheld President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s victory in the 2018 presidential election. He said:

I know there are people saying the Constitutional Court gave a verdict, Chief Justice Malaba gave a verdict to determine who should stay at State House.

Every week, every Saturday in Ntabazinduna every one of my headmen gives a better judgement than that. The judiciary has let us down profoundly, we are in this mess because they did not rise to the occasion.

Currently, in our country, we have a constitutional President, but here, right here, we have the popular president.

In our country that is the problem that we have, and for as long as people are stubborn and do not want to see common sense we will continue to have problems.

We haven’t started yet, it will get worse and worse, those issues have to be resolved

Chief Ndiweni said that attending the MDC Congress does not make him that party’s supporter.

He said it was his duty as a traditional leader to listen to the masses when they are suffering, and that he had come to the Congress on a fact-finding mission.

The controversial chief also attended the ruling ZANU PF conference in Esigodini in December last year, just as he has done over the past several years. He has, however, expressed his loathing of the ruling party.
