Watch: Desperate Passengers Board ZUPCO Buses Through Windows
The government on Monday announced that ZUPCO bus fares were slashed by up to 50%. The move coincided with a sharp increase in the price of fuel, which rose steeply.
Most of Harare’s routes previously cost $1.00, and the fares have now been reduced to $0.50. This resulted in a stampede for the subsidised ZUPCO buses by the suffering masses.
In a bid to get a seat for the journey home, or even a place to stand, young men, boarded the buses through windows. Watch the video below:
