FULL TEXT: Matabeleland Collective Defends Chief Ndiweni Against Onslaught

The Matabeleland Collective is deeply concerned about the attacks on Chief Nhlanhlayamangwe Ndiweni that threatens his safety and security and calls upon relevant security sectors to ensure that his safety and security is guaranteed.

The Collective strongly believes in the creation of safe spaces for dialogue on issues affecting people of Matabeleland, events of today undermines candid engagements processes that have commenced.

We call upon authorities to also ensure that his right to freedom of expression is protected as espoused in the Constitution.

The Collective believes every citizen has a right to express themselves in line with Constitutional provisions of freedom of expression without undue interferences. The Collective calls upon concerned parties to pursue dialogue than to resort violence to resolve issues.
