Mnangagwa To Visit Repainted Mbare Flats

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to visit the Mbare Flats in Harare. The flats, which are owned by the Harare City Council, are some of the most dilapidated and overcrowded accommodation flats in the country.

Said the Ministry of Information Publicity and Broadcasting today:

The President’s visit follows a repainting of the flats done by the City Council. The council was however criticised for the job with people suggesting it could have repaired the various sanitation facilities of the flats instead

The announcement of the visit was met with related criticism:

  1. Repainted yes, but are they decently habitable by the contemporary world standards of human accommodation. Industrialization of Zimbabwe will resolve these critical issues among many, my countrymen.
