WATCH: Chamisa Wrong To Hold Country At Ransom, Says Madhuku

The leader of the National Constitutional Assembly, Lovemore Madhuku has said that MDC has a wrong attitude about National Dialogue. One party, he said cannot hold the country at ransom.

Mahduku had been asked how some opposition political parties are engaging government in dialogue without the major opposition political party in the country at the table. Speaking in an interview. Madhuku responded:

I must say that it is a very wrong view that for you to make progress certain people have to hold the nation at ransom and say “If I’m not in, nothing will happen. Nothing will happen without me” It is a very wrong attitude. Because if those that are not in the dialogue have some solutions, why are they happy to see the people suffering and the only time that they will provide solutions is if they are in government. That is wrong.

So what we do is that this is a voluntary framework where those who come in would like to make a contribution. I’m sure that the political parties that are engaged currently have a commitment to see progress to the best that they can.
