Upgrade of Karoi-Binga Road To Tarmac Progresses. Funded By 2% Tax

The upgrade of the Karoi-BInga road to tarmac surface is progressing in earnest. The road is funded by the 2% Intermediated Money Transfer Tax that was introduced last year in October 2018.

The road is expected to open up tourism opportunities for destinations in the Binga area. It will provide travelers easier access to the area thereby boosting tourism and other business.

There is also speculation that this could become the shorted road route from Harare to Victoria Falls, one of Zimbabwe’s biggest tourist attractions. Currently, people traveling to Victoria Falls from Harare go via Bulawayo making it a 10 hours trip covering over 800kms.

The road upgrade is part of many other road surfacing projects being carried out across the country led by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
