ZIMRA Lifts Garnish Order On ZISCOSTEEL Accounts
The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has lifted the garnishee order it previously imposed on Ziscosteel accounts.
This means ex-employees of ZIscosteel will now be able to access their outstanding monthly salary payouts.
Ziscosteel accounts were being garnished everytime the government would deposit money into its account. The garnish hindered the ex-employees from getting their outstanding salaries.
When the company ceased functioning in 2008, it owed its workers about $38 million which the government agreed to pay after inheriting all of the company’s debts.
