WATCH: Chimanimani Residents Afraid There Can Be Cholera Outbreak
Chimanimani residents have expressed concern over the possibility of a cholera outbreak due to lack of clean water for domestic use. They argue that cholera may result from raw sewage which is being discharged into rivers where they get water for domestic purposes including washing, cooking, and drinking.
Cyclone Idai is said to have destroyed water sources and sewer pipelines. Resultantly, raw sewage is being discharged into rivers where they get their water.
Residents are also wary of the possibility that the missing victims of cyclone Idai may be still lying within rivers.
They implored the City council to rectify the issue.
