Chicken Slice Taken To Court By Chicken Inn

Chicken Inn has petitioned the High Court to order competitor Chicken Slice to stop infringing on its trademark.

Chicken Slice recently started a campaign with the word “Luv” in it and Chicken Inn says it has been using the phrase ‘Luv Dat Chicken’ since 1987.

Said Chicken Inn in its High Court filing:

“The use of the element ‘luv’ in particular, and the phrase ‘luv it’ in general, by Slice Distributors is identical with, and so nearly resembles Chicken Inn’s registered trademark as afore-presented, as likely to deceive or cause confusion amongst customers in the market,”

Here’s an example of a Chicken Slice advert with the “luv” word:

Chicken Inn also said the Chicken Slice’s color scheme also resembles that of Chicken Inn.
