Health Facilities In Manicaland Need Rehabilitation – Health Minister

Health and Child Care Minister, Dr. Obadiah Moyo, revealed that all medical facilities in Chipinge and Chimanimani need rehabilitation. These medical amenities including Chimanimani and Chipinge Hopsitals are in Cyclone Idai smacked Manicaland Province.

After touring the facilities, Dr. Moyo said:

We want to make sure we revamp the health care centres here, all the clinics must be spruced up. I toured Chipinge Hospital, and I saw that it needs a lot of revamping.

We will send a team of our infrastructure guys who will make an assessment of this whole area in terms of rehabilitation.

Dr. Moyo indicated that Cimanimani Hospital was not up for the task of assisting patience particulalry after the cyclone. The hospital is said to have been overwhelmed by the shere volumes of patience. Consequently, it referred the majority of the cases to Chipinge and Mutare.

  1. Health should be given a priority especially considering the fact that there is high risk of outbreak of diseases such as cholera.
